RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-REGULATION AND COPING STRATEGIES IN YOUTH
Abstracts

Introduction. The article presents the results of a correlational study of self-regulation and coping strategies in adolescence. Adolescence is a period of active development of resilience resources. These include coping strategies and self-regulation. The aim of the study is to identify the relationship between self-regulation and coping strategies in adolescence.

Materials and Methods. The study used questionnaires. We used the Pearson correlation coefficient, the student criterion. Girls (n = 107) and boys (n = 70) participated in the study.

Results. The results of the study showed that in girls self-regulation is positively correlated with problem-oriented coping and negatively correlated with avoidance of coping, and partially correlated with emotionally-oriented coping. In young men, self-regulation is positively correlated with emotionally-oriented coping and negatively with coping avoidance, partly with coping-oriented coping.

Discussion. The results obtained make it possible to understand the interconnection of domestic resources of resilience in adolescence and their sex differences.

Conclusion. The authors concluded that there is a relationship between self-regulation links and coping strategies in adolescence. Identified sex differences of this relationship.
